PrimeStone recently attended the 86th Annual NC Electric Meter School and Grid Technology Conference in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and presented with Georgia Power on Proactive Near Real-Time Phase Outage Monitoring. The North Carolina Meter School promotes the education of electric utility personnel covering common utility problems, standard practices, procedures and new technologies across seven educational tracks.
The North Carolina Meter School is one of the largest meter schools in the United States and this year had almost 600 attendees and over 80 vendor exhibits. PrimeStone was one of those exhibits and enjoyed introducing many to the PrimeRead Energy Suite and other innovative PrimeStone solutions. This year the Meter School introduced a new track: Emerging/Evolving Technology. This new track was the perfect fit for the Georgia Power and PrimeStone presentation on Proactive Near Real-Time Phase Outage Monitoring.
The presentation outlined how Georgia Power is rolling out near real-time phase outage monitoring for greater outage visibility to better serve their large commercial and industrial accounts. The main objective is to have a reliable and robust system in order to manage power outages in an effective and efficient fashion with immediate visibility on outage and restoration. The presentation was well received and generated questions/ discussion.
PrimeStone also recently attended the 67th EDA Upper Canada District Metering Technologies Conference in Kingston, Ontario. The conference was well attended by both electric distribution utilities and vendors serving the utility industry. PrimeStone has served this group for over a decade with solutions mostly around Suite Metering, but this year there was a substantial interest in PrimeStone’s commercial and industrial meter data collection and analysis capabilities.
